Job Description & Summary

About the role:

The Corporate Intelligence team, which is part of our Cyber & Forensics business unit, conducts investigative research for clients seeking to mitigate the risks associated with third parties, acquisition targets, commercial partners and other business relationships. By accessing public record information and undertaking discreet source enquiries, we provide clients with the information they need to make strategic business decisions.

We currently have two open positions to join the team:

A linguist who can conduct research in Russian; and

A dual linguist who can conduct research in at least two of the following languages (Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, German, French or Spanish).

We are looking for individuals who have an aptitude for research, an investigative and sceptical mind-set, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. We envisage that the role will be largely research focused, although successful candidates will also be required to assist with administrative duties. Candidates should also be prepared for occasional travel as some of our opportunities can require team members to work at client sites. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates and professionals to work across one of Forensics high growth teams where they will play a key role in the delivery of multi-faceted projects for our global client base.

What your days will look like:

This is a fast paced, challenging environment which can provide you with a rewarding and stimulating career. You will work with well known, global clients and receive both technical and softer skills training to assist with your continual personal and professional development.

The CI team has clients across the globe from multiple industries including financial services, aerospace & defence, construction, education, various government departments, pharmaceutical, energy, technology, media and consumer goods.

  • Research of public domain information in one or more languages including research of corporate registers, media databases, litigation records and other open source material
  • Management and tasking of third parties making human source enquiries
  • Report drafting
  • Various ad hoc administrative tasks as required
  • Providing business development support to the CI management team.
Projects will be mainly carried out at PwC's Belfast office, although you may be required to travel to client sites (across the UK and sometimes global client sites) or PwC UK offices for training. We will discuss these requirements with you in advance of starting a project.

This role is for you:

  • Native speaking or fluent in written Russian or at least two of the following languages (Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, German, French or Spanish)
  • Ability to translate and conduct advanced research in Russian or at least two of the following languages (Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, German, French or Spanish)
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • An aptitude for innovation and learning, with a particular focus on the use of new technologies and on creative thinking with it comes to implementing bespoke client solutions
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to step back and assess the bigger picture where required
  • A highly analytical skill set with an ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and to evaluate large amounts of information for the purposes of identifying underlying key issues and their broader implications
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on collaborative working and relationship building
What you'll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
