Job Description:

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to:

  • Design, analyze, and manufacture a representative bladed disk or blisk with Under Platform Damper slots, and commission it on an existing test bed.
  • This post is funded by ATI to work on the collaborative HOTLINE project involving Rolls-Royce plc and other university research groups.

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out research programs in experimental vibration.
  • Undertaking project management.
  • Supervising multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Submitting publications to refereed journals.
  • Attracting external research funding.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Hold a first degree (Research Assistant) or PhD degree (Research Associate) in a relevant area.
  • Practical experience in CAD design, FE analysis, and experimental techniques.
  • Experience in a research environment with publications in refereed journals.
  • Knowledge of test bed design and high cycle fatigue analysis.

Desirable:

  • Experience dealing with research sponsors and industry engineers.
