Job description

Applications are encouraged for a Research Associate position in Geotechnics at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The post will include some teaching duties in Geotechnics.

You will support research efforts within the Geotechnics section, including generating research output, disseminating research through papers and presentations, developing research proposals (supporting academic staff and leading your own fellowship proposals), and acting as an assistant supervisor to PhD students. Additionally, you will support the teaching mission by delivering lectures, tutorials, laboratory demonstrations, participating in field trips, supervising MEng and MSc dissertations, and creating and marking assessments.

We seek someone with excellent communication skills, some prior teaching/support experience, postgraduate qualifications in geotechnical engineering, industrial experience, and research dissemination experience.

You will be mentored by academic staff in Geotechnics to develop your research and teaching skills. You will work with a world-leading team and be involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
