Job description
Overview

You will be involved in developing a programmable multienzyme assembly for enzymatic nucleic acid synthesis characterised using a multidisciplinary approach including protein library design, single-molecule FRET (smFRET), mass spectrometry, enzyme kinetics and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Knowledge of nucleic acid-modifying enzymes, specifically DNA/RNA polymerases, and enzymatic protein assemblies is essential.

Qualifications
  • A PhD in biochemistry, bioengineering, structural biology or equivalent experience
  • Excellent knowledge in replication/transcription biochemistry to engage in high-quality research
  • Enthusiasm for multidisciplinary research related to multienzyme systems, enzyme engineering and nucleic acids synthesis
  • Collaborative ethos, positive attitude and committed to personal development
  • Hands-on experience in designing, generating and analysing a protein/peptide library
  • Excellent oral scientific communication skills and able to write up research work for publication
