Role Summary

The Scientist will support the drug development team, leveraging technical expertise in analytical chemistry to support the discovery and characterization of novel drug candidates and their clinical formulations.

The Impact you will have at Metsera

Under the guidance of the Research Director, the main responsibilities include:

• Executing and optimizing assays to characterize Metsera's peptides and peptide formulations
• Developing novel assays for future bioanalysis needs
• Developing quality control testing and characterization assays
• Collaborating with the Discovery and CMC Teams on peptide characterization needs, sometimes on short notice
• Maintaining accurate records of experiments and studies
• Analyzing large datasets and preparing research reports

Additional duties may include

• Participating in training and development activities
• Performing laboratory maintenance and cleaning to ensure smooth operations

What you bring to Metsera

• MSc degree +2 years or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Sciences, or equivalent experience
• Wet lab experience in molecular biology with peptide or protein research background
• Experience developing analytical methods and assays for peptides or proteins
• Knowledge of biological molecule characterization techniques such as LC (RP/SEC-HPLC), DLS/SLS
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced lab environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Flexible, cooperative attitude towards work
• Self-motivated with good prioritization skills
• Discreet and mindful of confidentiality and security

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with LCMS
• Experience in a biotech startup environment
