The post holder will work across several high-profile research projects led by the GM Digital Research Unit. For example, the Enhancing CAMHS referrals project (EN-CAMHS 2) aims to improve the quality of referrals to CAMHS services. Another project, the Core Mental Health Data Set (CMHDS), seeks to understand people's views on collecting mental health information alongside physical health data. The post holder will also contribute to various other projects and activities within the Digital Research Unit related to digital mental health.
The research associate will support the day-to-day operations of research projects under the guidance of the Project Managers. Responsibilities include prioritising and completing tasks within agreed timeframes, actively participating in multidisciplinary study teams, preparing for and contributing to meetings, assisting in designing and implementing digital mental health research projects, contributing to grant applications, ensuring accurate data collection and secure management, and assisting with quantitative and qualitative analyses. They will conduct sensitive focus groups and digital co-design workshops with participants and contribute to PPIE activities hosted by the G.M Digital Research Team, including the Youth Connection Young People’s Advisory Group.
The post-holder will receive line management support from the Project Manager and/or Study Lead based in the G.M Digital Research Unit, Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). This includes regular supervision, clear objectives set for 3, 6, and 12 months, and annual appraisals, depending on continued funding.
