Job summary

UNSW Canberra invites applications for a Research Associate to work within the School of Systems and Computing on multidisciplinary research involving cryptography, machine learning and biometrics. The role contributes to research dissemination through publications and conferences.

Funded by an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant, the position supports development of results and collaboration at national and international events.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or Math or a closely related field.
• PhD degree expected soon after start date.
• Proven ability to conduct independent, innovative research.
• Strong publication record in top venues (Crypto, Eurocrypt, CCS, NDSS, IEEE TIFS/TPAMI).
• Expertise in post-quantum or applied cryptography; plus math background.
• Experience applying deep learning to biometrics research.

Responsibilities

• Conduct innovative independent research in cryptography, ML and biometrics.
• Publish research results in international journals and conferences.
• Contribute to development of research outcomes and dissemination at conferences.
