Job description

About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bioinformatician to join our Mesothelioma Research team within the Department of Genetics, Genomics and Cancer Sciences. In this role, you will lead the development and application of bioinformatics pipelines for DNA sequencing, contribute to innovative cancer research, and collaborate with a diverse team of scientists and external partners. You will play a key part in shaping the direction of our cutting-edge research on mesothelioma, disseminating findings through publications and conferences, and supporting the development of future research funding applications.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant academic community dedicated to impactful cancer research.

About You

You will hold a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant scientific discipline and have demonstrable expertise in cancer genomics, bioinformatics, and phylogenetics, particularly in the analysis of DNA sequencing data with a focus on mesothelioma. You will be confident working both independently and as part of a team, with a proven ability to communicate complex information effectively, contribute to publications, and engage with collaborators.

We’re looking for a proactive researcher with a passion for advancing knowledge in tumour evolution and mesothelioma. Your excellent problem-solving skills, commitment to continuous professional development, and ability to mentor others will support the delivery of high-impact research aligned with our mission as Citizens of Change.
