Applications are invited for a behavioural science fellowship focused on cross-cultural social psychology. The fellowship is jointly hosted by a Classified Research Programme and this University. The fellowship will run for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
Fellows will pursue a research project designed in consultation with colleagues in the Classified Research Programme, addressing issues relevant to national security and the research agenda. Some research will be academic, aimed at publication, while others will be classified for internal use within the national security community. Fellows will gain experience in different research environments and managing sensitive information.
Fellows will have a base within the University, with mentors from both the University and the Classified Research Programme. They will attend the Programme's Manchester office regularly and should be located in the North-West or willing to relocate.
Applicants should have completed or submitted a relevant PhD and have expertise in cross-cultural psychology, social psychology, or social influence. This should be detailed in the application letter, and shortlisted candidates will present briefly at interview.
This role involves working within highly confidential environments and may require security clearance under the Official Secrets Act. Applicants should consider their eligibility for clearance before applying. The University reserves the right to terminate the fellowship if security clearance is lost.
