The position involves acting as project manager for the “Market Economies and Green Ideals” grant and serving as assistant director of the Centre for the Study of Governance and Society (CSGS). Responsibilities include managing grant administration, preparing reports, handling social media, supporting conferences and events, and evaluating research under the grant. The role also encourages independent academic research. A Ph.D. in philosophy, politics, economics, or related social sciences or humanities is required. The Assistant Director reports to the Co-Principal Investigator, Roberto Fumagalli, and the Principal Investigator and CSGS Director, Mark Pennington.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position from 1st September 2025 to 31st May 2028.
Essential criteria include a Ph.D. in social sciences or humanities, ability to work in small teams, being detail-oriented, excellent writing skills, and experience in independent research. Desirable criteria include grant experience, administrative skills, social media management, and research interests in governance and sustainable development.
Applicants should submit a CV and a supporting statement addressing the essential criteria. The role offers a salary of £44,355 to £51,735 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance. Interviews are scheduled for May, and sponsorship is available for non-UK candidates.
