Research Associate (Fixed term for 6 months, part-time 0.35 FTE)

Ref: RA2331

Salary on appointment will be £30,805 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £37,174 per annum (pro rata).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate join the School of Politics, Philosophy and Area Studies to conduct studies on the politics of joint military exercises in the Indo-Pacific.

As a Research Associate you will contribute to the research programme, analyse and interpret data, write up results and present information on research progress and outcomes.

You will have a postgraduate level degree in international relations or international security (or a related field), or equivalent qualification or experience and awareness of key research themes in security and foreign policy of the Indo-Pacific.

You will be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge or experience of working in the Indo-Pacific region would be advantageous.

This part-time (0.35 FTE) post is available from 1 September 2025 on a fixed term basis for 6 months.
