Imperial College London seeks a Research Associate to join Professor Jimmy Moore’s team focused on the lymphatic system. This role involves designing innovative flow systems for medical imaging and conducting vital research, contributing to significant advancements in healthcare, particularly for conditions like cancer.
The at Imperial is looking for a Research Associate to join Professor Jimmy Moore’s team.
The lymphatic system is crucial for human health and plays a role in many diseases, including cancer. However, understanding its functions is limited by the lack of diagnostic tools for lymphatic dysfunction. This project aims to develop flow systems that mimic lymphatic flow, providing a standard for medical imaging to improve imaging modalities. The laboratory is led by a renowned expert in lymphatic biomechanics, recognized internationally for research supervision.
Your responsibilities will include designing flow rigs that replicate the lymphatic system's pumping dynamics, with computer control and data collection capabilities. Additionally, you will conduct research in fluid and/or solid biomechanics, manage projects, supervise multidisciplinary teams, publish in refereed journals, and seek external research funding.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in mathematics, physics, or engineering. While prior knowledge of the lymphatic system is not necessary, expertise in fluid and/or solid biomechanics and a PhD in a related field are required.
