This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious researcher to advance their career at the intersection of social sciences, housing, poverty, and palliative care. The position is funded through the ESRC project: ‘There is no place like home: Exploring dying at home in urban poverty,’ led by Dr. Kate Woodthorpe at the University of Bath, with leadership at Hull by Professors Liz Walker and Fliss Murtagh.
The project aims to explore the impact of housing on dying at home, especially among those in urban poverty. It involves interdisciplinary research across three towns and cities in England, including analysis of policy history, understanding the meaning of home, and making policy recommendations.
The role involves conducting face-to-face interviews with patients with advanced illness, their families, and healthcare professionals, contributing to all aspects of the study within an interdisciplinary team including academics from multiple universities.
We seek a highly experienced, sensitive, and confident qualitative researcher.
