The Research Associate is responsible for Western Blotting our antibodies, to ensure the highest quality for our customers. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone to have an immediate and positive impact within the team and ultimately support researchers and scientists across the world to discover more, faster!

This position reports to the QC Manager and is part of the In-house Manufacturing Team located in Cambridge. It will be on-site. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  1. Plan and execute experimental runs to validate our antibodies in Western Blot (WB).
  2. Prepare and execute SOPs, maintain accurate Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
  3. Drive continuous improvement activities to optimise existing workflows.
  4. Work within a diverse team and be accountable towards achieving our key metrics.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Hands-on experience of Western Blot (WB).
  • Able to work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Hold a BSc. and/or MSc. in a Life Sciences.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Hands-on experience of any of the following techniques: Flow cytometry, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
