Job summary

Imperial College London’s National Heart and Lung Institute invites a motivated Research Assistant to join a BHF-funded project on how the complement system contributes to pulmonary arterial hypertension. Based in the Vascular Sciences Section, you will work across animal models, primary cell culture, molecular biology and omics to understand disease mechanisms.

Qualifications

The candidate should hold a BSc or MSc in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline.
Experience working within a research laboratory environment and familiarity with molecular and cellular biology techniques.

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory techniques including primary cell culture, RT-qPCR, ELISA, western blotting and immunostaining.
Support performing and monitoring animal models of pulmonary vascular disease.
Generate, analyse and interpret experimental data and maintain accurate records.
Contribute to day-to-day operation of the research laboratory.
Participate in research group meetings and assist preparation of publications and reports.
Collaborate with leading researchers in pulmonary vascular biology and complement biology.
