Job summary

Liverpool John Moores University invites applications for a part-time researcher role focusing on evaluating community-based environmental initiatives. The post supports quantitative and qualitative methods under a National Lottery-funded project, with scope to contribute to publications and outputs.

Working under supervision, you will conduct surveys, perform statistical analyses, engage with communities, and help prepare reports and papers for dissemination.

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree (up to at least undergraduate level), or equivalent, in a relevant social science discipline.
  • Experience and competency in quantitative social research and associated statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of qualitative data collection and qualitative analysis.
  • Experience in a research-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and organisational skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct questionnaires and analyse them statistically to understand wellbeing, social connection, pro-environmental attitudes and behavioural change.
  • Gather and analyse qualitative data using a range of techniques.
  • Attend community events to undertake participant observations.
  • Contribute to project reporting, data management, and the formulation and submission of academic papers and other outputs (such as conference presentations).
