A leading art business in London is seeking a full-time Research Assistant for its Prints & Multiples Department. The ideal candidate will support the preparation of cataloguing and research for upcoming sales, requiring strong organizational skills and a passion for prints. Responsibilities include research, image editing, and liaising with various departments. This role is an agency contract without employee benefits.

Why This Role Matters
Christie's is currently accepting applications for a full-time Research Assistant for the Prints & Multiples Department in London The successful candidate would support the Specialists and Sale Coordinator with preparation of cataloguing, hilling and research for upcoming single owner collection sales.
How You'll Make an Impact
Assisting specialists in researching works for upcoming sale. This includes, but is not limited to, provenance and exhibition history research, and undertaking literature checks
Attending “hilling” sessions, during which our specialists review works and share their knowledge
Assisting with image editing, photography and proofing
Liaising with internal departments, including Photography, Image Editing, Publishing and other Specialist Departments
Selecting suitable comparable images for publication and researching copyright information
Writing catalogue essays for publication, where appropriate
Preparing factsheets, images and lot cards for all sale lots
Responding to image and factsheet requests, assisting specialist team and client requests during sale week
Assisting with installing the galleries for auction previews, which includes compiling and mounting lot cards and taking installation images for each work
General department tasks as assigned by line manager
What you’ll bring to the team
Demonstrate a genuine passion for prints, in particular Old Masters and Moderns prints
Be well-organized, with a proven ability to work pro-actively and calmly in a high-pressure professional environment
Possess strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
Be able to converse with staff and clients in a confident and articulate manner
Additional language skills are desirable (German preferred), however not mandatory
Ideally possess knowledge of Christie’s systems including JDE, Canvas, COS or show strong ability to learn systems and processes quickly
Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Candidates must be have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (preferably in art history or related subject), and be able to work full-time
