LJMU has been awarded funding to collaborate with Liverpool City Council to advance knowledge and practice in the field of Construction Environmental Impact, aiming for Net Zero site construction and enhancing Liverpool's economy.
The university supports building and structure design by quantifying potential waste, incorporating biomaterials using locally available resources, and leveraging expertise in engineering characterization, testing, computational modeling, and sustainability evaluation with carbon tools.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with a proven track record in engineering related to building and infrastructure development aligned with SDGs, and experienced in working within a team environment. They should be capable of raising the profile and promoting the project activities.
The role involves creating a straightforward guide for developers on alternative construction materials, detailing their impact on industry standards, and providing tools to quantify benefits, costs, and carbon savings to support decision-making in the public and private sectors.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated research team within the university, alongside researchers from the Schools of Civil Engineering and Built Environment. The successful candidate will be results-oriented, with a history of achieving and exceeding ambitious goals in a relevant discipline.
