Job summary

Medway Council invites applications for a Research Assistant within the HDRC Medway team. This entry point at level A supports synthesis of evidence, development of research projects, and collaboration with partners across Medway, the University of Kent and public health stakeholders.

You will assist with qualitative and quantitative methods, prepare minutes and meetings, and help identify opportunities for research funding.

Qualifications

  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
  • Evidence syntheses, rapid reviews and database searching.
  • Clear, concise writing and ability to communicate findings to varied audiences.
  • Knowledge of wider determinants of health and research ethics.
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues inside and outside the organisation.
  • Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Data Science or 2 years' relevant experience; 5 GCSEs including English & Maths.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake specialist and general administrative duties for HDRC Medway.
  • Support synthesis of existing research evidence and development of research projects.
  • Assist with qualitative and quantitative research methods and identify funding opportunities.
  • Organise meetings, take minutes and manage research team files and communications.
