Who We Are

Tres Alchemix is an early-stage biotechnology company, with a foundation in Japan and an R&D base in Oxford. We integrate cutting-edge AI platforms, quantum chemistry, and multi-omics data to discover and develop the next generation of small molecule therapeutics. Our current focus is to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and translate those insights into novel drug candidates.

About the Role

We are looking for a Research Assistant to support our high-throughput cell-based screening team. Based in our Oxford laboratory, you will contribute to the generation of high-quality biological data that drives our discovery platform. The successful candidate will be involved in assay execution, cell line maintenance, and experimental optimisation. This is a hands-on laboratory role ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in cell biology and assay development, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup research environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help identify novel cancer drug candidates by optimising and performing anin vitrohigh-throughput drug screening
  • Maintain and culture a variety of human cell lines under sterile conditions
  • Prepare necessary materials for the assay including reagents and media
  • Ensure assay quality and reproducibility through good lab practices (e.g. precise pipetting)
  • Record, analyse, and report experimental data accurately
  • Adhere to lab protocols and help maintain an organised, efficient workspace
  • Support continuous improvement of screening workflows and documentation

Qualifications

  • BSc (or higher) in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on lab experience (academic or industry)
  • Strong skills in mammalian cell culture and sterile technique
  • High attention to detail, especially in pipetting and assay reproducibility
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently and collaboratively
