Purpose of Position |
A post-baccalaureate research assistant position is available immediately in the lab of Dr. Michael P. Guy to study post-transcriptional tRNA modifications using biochemical, molecular biological, and genetic approaches.

Primary Responsibilities |
Responsibilities include planning, performing, and analyzing experiments. Additionally, the research assistant will assist the PI with daily lab operations such as maintaining lab supplies and cleanliness, and supervising and training undergraduate research students.

Qualifications |
Applicants should have a B.S. in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or a related field. Although no previous work experience is required, experience as an undergraduate researcher is highly desired. Research experience with yeast, tissue culture and/or CRISPR-Cas9 is a plus.
Must be able to use standard biochemistry laboratory equipment and chemicals and work with non-pathogenic yeast as well as cell culture. Lifting and standing required to perform standard research activities.
Must be reliable and able to work independently without close supervision.
