About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Research Assistant to contribute to an ongoing MRC-funded research project involving ES cell culture and CRISPR screening. The successful candidate will plan and carry out experimental work, compile data, and devise strategies for further development of the project. Tasks will include performing CRISPR mediated knockout and knockdown validations, CUT&Tag/CUT&Run, RNAseq (training will be provided where needed), lentiviral transduction, FACS sorting, DNA isolation, and PCR.
About You
Applicants should have a BSc in a relevant bioscience field, be motivated, self-driven, and willing to learn new skills. Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture is essential. Technical expertise and statistical analysis skills in cell and molecular biology would be a significant advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team, deliver projects within an agreed time frame, and maintain good laboratory records are also beneficial. We are keen to support the successful candidate in any technical areas in which they do not have prior knowledge.

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, supporting around 700 postgraduate research and taught students.
