Job summary

Cellular Agriculture Ltd is seeking a Research Assistant to support R&D and engineering activities at our Corsham site. The role involves cell culture, bioprocess set-up, data collection, and collaboration across teams to accelerate research and development.

The successful candidate will have a Biological sciences degree and be comfortable working a weekend day per month, with time off in lieu; the position includes a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support R&D and Engineering routine activities, e.g. cell culture, bioprocess set-up, analysis and data collection.
  • Seed train cell expansion for bioreactor operations.
  • Make bulk media batches.
  • Perform downstream molecular biology analysis.
  • Collaborate across teams to accelerate R&D and engineering workplans.
  • Act as a knowledge source for specific equipment.
  • Maintain a professional, clean, and safe working environment.

Research Assistant
Salary: £32,000
Location: Corsham Science Park

What this role entails:
  • Supporting R&D and Engineering routine activities, e.g. cell culture, bioprocess set-up, analysis and data collection.
  • Seed train cell expansion for bioreactor operations.
  • Making bulk media batches.
  • Perform downstream molecular biology analysis.
  • Collaborate across teams and assist in various company activities to accelerate R&D and engineering workplans.
  • Act as a key source of knowledge and support for specific equipment.
  • Work closely with scientists and engineers to maintain a professional, clean, and safe working environment.
Objectives:
  1. Support bioreactor experiments by delivering cells, media, bioprocess set-up, data collection and analysis.
  2. Maintain or modify equipment to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
  3. Support the running and maintain the labs to a high standard.
Selection criteria
  1. 1) Experience No specific requirements.
  2. 2) Delivering for an organisation Takes personal ownership and acts to ensure delivery of excellent work against agreed standards and safety requirements.
  3. 3) Team working Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people, working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  4. 4) Expertise Biological sciences degree.

The successful candidate will be expected to work weekend days (approximately 1-2 weekend days per month) for which time off in lieu will be granted.
