The Rotational Specialty doctor post aims to allow the trust to arrange additional medical support to a team at reasonably short notice, for example, in the event of illness or changes to trainee rotations, while reducing the use of agency doctors. As such, the post holder is expected to be flexible and can be moved to a new service at reasonably short notice.
The post provides an opportunity for a wide variety of adult Psychiatry experience. Placements may vary in length but would usually be for several months minimum, and the post is fixed-term for several years to provide job security. The services will be limited by geographical area to reduce travel time for the candidate.
The timetable for each post will vary, but each will be supervised by a consultant Psychiatrist and include at least one session of SPA time for CPD-related activities, supervision of self or others, teaching, and participation in governance within the trust. There are weekly lunchtime CPD events hosted by the Trust and Cambridge University, which the candidate is welcome to attend.
