Job description

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive institution rooted in the Liverpool City Region with a global presence. Our students and staff are central to our community and industry impact, reflecting our commitment to working with Liverpool to improve lives and support communities.

We are seeking an experienced evaluation or research practitioner to join our Student Voice and Evaluation team within the Teaching and Learning Academy.

You will collaborate with the Head of Access, Participation and Student Success, and the team to support evaluation plans for our 2025-29 Access and Participation Plan and other student equity initiatives. Your role will involve developing resources, tools, guidance, and training to enhance the evaluation of our activities aimed at supporting student equity across the student lifecycle.

With expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, you will work with academic and professional colleagues across the university, as well as supporting students, officers, and colleagues within John Moores Students’ Union.

Strong communication skills, organizational ability, and the capacity to meet deadlines are essential. Your contributions will support the university in achieving its targets and addressing barriers to equality of opportunity for students.

This fixed-term role runs from 1st August 2025 to 31st July 2029, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office per week, with flexible working arrangements considered.

We offer an excellent benefits package, including generous annual leave, pension scheme, induction, development support, and family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to LJMU’s Strategy 2030, the 2025-29 Access and Participation Plan, and our vision as an inclusive civic university transforming lives by placing students at the core of our mission.

If you believe your skills and experience align with this role, we look forward to hearing from you.

For informal inquiries, contact Leanne Taher-Bates, Head of Access, Participation and Student Success, at l.d.taherbates@ljmu.ac.uk.

LJMU is an equal opportunities employer, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and communities. All appointments are made on merit.
