Job Description:

A leading provider of innovative laser systems supporting global markets such as renewables, microelectronics, research, life sciences, automotive, and medicine.

We are seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager to lead and coordinate sustainment and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

The Project Manager will ensure smooth project execution, foster cross-team collaboration, and manage cross-site or non-NPI projects critical to product development. Success depends on driving progress, aligning stakeholders, and meeting project goals within a complex technical environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Define project phases and organize work for efficient execution.
• Establish clear deliverables and milestones, communicating goals effectively.
• Maintain and update the risk register for proactive risk management.
• Facilitate project workshops aligned with project objectives.
• Oversee project closeouts, documenting findings and best practices.

Performance Monitoring & Process Improvement

• Track KPIs such as time, resources, and costs.
• Provide project updates and documentation.
• Improve project processes and documentation continually.
• Ensure adherence to NPI processes and control over project records.
• Manage phase gate reviews, gather sign-offs, and log issues.

Education & Experience

• Degree in science, technology, engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, including transfer from design to manufacturing in high-tech settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing technical projects, preferably within SCRUM/AGILE frameworks.
• Ability to learn laser technology quickly.
