This role involves overseeing production and maintenance of plant and seed materials, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day-to-day production and maintenance of plant/seed materials.
  • Liaise with the Technical Support Team for customer satisfaction.

Job description

Title: Research and Development Associate 2

Location: Bracknell

Duration of Contract: 12 Months – possible extension

Days/Hours: 36 hours per week

Pay Rate: £14.43 per hour - PAYE

Desired Start Date: ASAP

Industry: Agrichemical Manufacturing

Duties
  1. Carry out day-to-day production and maintenance of plant/seed materials to meet customer requirements.
  2. Highlight problems promptly and work independently or as part of a team during experimental work using established and novel screening methods.
  3. Maintain plants under glasshouse conditions for the duration of tests.
  4. Liaise with the Technical Support Team to ensure high customer support and satisfaction.
  5. Develop technical knowledge and skills through diverse production techniques.
  6. Identify areas for efficiency improvements and contribute to problem solving with team members and supervisors.
  7. Accurately keep records and update databases.
  8. Contribute to continuous improvement of screening methods and processes.
  9. Maintain a safe working environment and comply with safety procedures and HSE regulations.
  10. Ensure compliance with DEFRA, CBD, QMS, and HSE regulations regarding containment and use of genetically modified organisms and licensed plant material.
  11. Work with precision, accuracy, and efficiency, demonstrating a good work ethic and consistency.
  12. Possibly responsible for some test planning.
Skills
  • General knowledge of plant biology, with knowledge of seed production and horticultural techniques preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
