Our client is an independent research and insights consultancy operating in the field of international development. They research fragile states, opinions on the ground, and how current affairs and geopolitics affect everyday people and government communication.

We seek proactive, highly analytical individuals to serve our growing client portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious, detail-oriented candidates with a strong interest in, and cultural understanding of, North Africa, and some experience in preparing and delivering research products.

This position involves working on a top security project integrating multiple data streams, including opinion research, media monitoring, open-source insights, and qualitative research. The work focuses on critical issues such as security, democracy, development, and defense, ideal for those interested in international politics and research backgrounds.

The role offers growth in research and intelligence expertise, with potential foreign travel. Candidates must reside in the UK or have the right to work and live in the UK.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinating with multiple research suppliers across various countries to collect quantitative and qualitative data.
  2. Managing multi-country reporting.
  3. Designing new research approaches and methodologies or updating existing ones.
  4. Creating qualitative and quantitative data collection tools.
  5. Engaging relevant stakeholders and partners in research planning.
  6. Analyzing primary and secondary data using meaningful techniques.
  7. Writing reports, quality checking, and delivering high-quality analytical products.
  8. Keeping informed about relevant regional news.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience or academic background in quantitative data analysis (Excel/SPSS) and excellent writing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, especially in data management and analysis.
  • Experience with additional data analysis tools (PowerBi, media monitoring tools, OSINT skills) is a plus.
  • Preference for candidates with assessment, M&E, or analysis backgrounds, including survey design, sampling, and data quality assessment.
  • Knowledge of the politics, economics, and societies of Africa.
