Job summary

A leading investment firm in the UK is seeking an experienced equity research analyst to conduct in-depth investment analysis and attend management meetings. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in financial modeling and strong analytical skills. Qualifications

Your opportunity

You will:

  • Conduct in-depth investment fundamental analysis of specific sectors and individual stocks to assist with the monitoring of existing holdings and help with the identification of new trade ideas
  • Attend sell-side analyst and company management meetings, plus broker conferences
  • Prepare detailed reports and will be required to frequently present your views and recommendations to the team
  • Identify asymmetric return opportunities consistent with an absolute return mindset
  • Apply appropriate valuation techniques (e.g. DCF) with a focus on downside protection
  • Stress-test assumptions under different macro and market regimes

Must have skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of financial modelling, ideally gained through at least three years prior experience as an equity research analyst on the sell-side or buy-side
  • In-depth knowledge through experience of at least one industry sector in European equities
  • Degree educated (all disciplines considered)
  • Willingness to work hard, ability to work and make decisions independently
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and assimilate large amounts of information quickly
  • Coping with pressure and setbacks, investing needs to be your passion
  • Microsoft office skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and other market data platforms

Nice to have skills

  • Ideally IMC or CFA qualified (or studying towards)
