Join a team of Research, Design, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) professionals who are identifying, developing, demonstrating, and assessing technologies and concepts to help protect America’s homeland in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Office of Mission and Capability Support (MCS).

The position is REMOTE with strong preference for candidates around the NCR.

Purpose/Scope:

Amentum is seeking a Research Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert providing comprehensive analysis support to homeland security operations. This position requires advanced analytical capabilities, effective communication skills, and a deep understanding of law enforcement processes, particularly in immigration enforcement contexts. The analyst will evaluate data from multiple sources, develop insightful reports, and present findings to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making for DHS Component R&D operational priorities.

1. Analyze and evaluate information from diverse sources including automated database systems, operational reports, case files, and various internal and external systems.
2. Collect, collate, and synthesize raw, primary, and secondary data to produce comprehensive analytical products.
3. Evaluate incoming reports and information to perform interpretations, assessments, and strategic projections.
4. Prepare descriptive analytical reports to inform operational and strategic planning.
5. Develop and deliver presentations to effectively communicate findings to senior leadership.
6. Communicate with internal and external law enforcement partners and community members to understand sources, operations, missions, and requirements.
7. Ensure all activities comply with laws, regulations, executive orders, and directives from Congress.
8. Identify emerging trends and patterns relevant to homeland security, especially in immigration enforcement.
9. Support complex investigations and operations with analytical expertise.
10. Contribute to enhancing analytical methodologies and practices.
11. Must pass DHS entry on duty (EOD) requirements to maintain Public Trust suitability.
12. Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, International Relations, or related field, with 5+ years of analytical experience supporting law enforcement.
13. Demonstrated experience with advanced analytical methods and techniques.
14. Proven ability to evaluate information from multiple sources and develop reports.
15. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
16. Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to senior leadership.
17. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and directives governing homeland security operations.
18. Position may require occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Public Trust clearance.
• Active security clearance.
• Retired law enforcement professional, especially with immigration law enforcement experience.
• Advanced degree in relevant fields.
• Experience in cyber, national security, science, or related areas.
• Knowledge of homeland security database systems and analytical tools.
• Experience working in multi-agency environments.
• Background in threat assessment and risk analysis.
