Job description

The School of Medicine is seeking a 0.5 FTE administrator to join the Research Support Team as an Ethics and Governance Administrator. The successful candidate will provide guidance, support, and advice to staff and students submitting ethics applications for review by the School Ethics Committee. The Committee conducts ethical reviews and approves research activities involving human participants, data, or samples.

The role involves scheduling meetings, collating and reviewing applications, preparing paperwork, taking minutes, and providing feedback. The role also requires maintaining accurate records of applications and following up with researchers as approvals expire. Additionally, the role supports external research ethics and governance processes.

The ideal candidate will be organized, with proven administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills, and strong attention to detail. The role requires working both independently and as part of a team.

This is a 0.5 FTE position. The University is also advertising a 0.5 FTE Research Coordinator role, with opportunities to combine roles for full-time work, though this is not guaranteed. Applicants interested in this specific role are encouraged to apply.
