Job summary

Royal Devon is inviting applications for a Research Administrator (Band 3) within the Clinical Trials Team in Exeter. Two on-site roles available: Oncology/Critical Care and Genetics, both full or part-time options as specified.

You will support the safe conduct of research under GCP guidelines, manage trial documentation, and coordinate activities across multiple projects. We seek an organised, autonomous administrator with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Clinical Trials Team as a Research Administrator (Band 3).

We have two roles available:

  • Clinical Trials Oncology and Critical Care/Surgical - 37.5 hours
  • Clinical Trials Critical Care/Surgical and Genetics - 22.5 hours

The post holder will work within the research delivery team to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the Research Governance Framework, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and organisational policies. They will help ensure that the rights, safety, and well-being of research participants are protected.

We are looking for an administrator with strong transferable skills to support the set-up and delivery of clinical trials. Responsibilities include maintaining study files, preparing trial documentation, coordinating research activities, and providing general administrative support to research teams.

The successful candidate will be able to plan and manage their workload autonomously across multiple concurrent research projects, prioritising tasks effectively and using their initiative to meet deadlines. The role may involve working across a range of specialties and therefore requires flexibility, confidence, autonomy, and excellent organisational skills.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team are essential.

Both roles are on-site office based.

Working Pattern:Start time between 8-9am and finish time between 4-5pm weekdays
