Job Description

We are seeking a Requirements Management Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, supporting a long-term radar systems upgrade programme for a high-profile UK naval defence platform. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of new radar models and the integration of advanced technologies on a critical maritime system.

What will you be doing?

You'll play a key role in the development and delivery of updated radar systems for a major surface vessel platform - focusing on requirements traceability, stakeholder alignment, and system model evolution. The project involves both the delivery of additional radar units and the modernisation of existing technology.

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Manage, update, and track requirements using IBM DOORS Next
  • Ensure full requirements traceability across the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Work closely with engineering teams to define and validate system behaviours and performance
  • Support the integration of new radar models into existing naval architecture
  • Contribute to configuration control and impact assessments during technology upgrades

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency with IBM DOORS Next (or DOORS Next Generation)
  • Strong understanding of requirements engineering in a systems environment
  • Experience working on large-scale defence, aerospace, or maritime programmes
  • Familiarity with radar, electronic systems or naval equipment is advantageous
  • Confident working with internal and external stakeholders to align technical objectives
