Summary

As a Specialist Clinical Rotational Pharmacist, you will:

  1. Collaborate with Lead Pharmacists, clinicians, nursing staff, and senior managers to enhance pharmaceutical services within relevant directorates.
  2. Provide clinical pharmacy services in specialized areas, covering other areas when ward cover is needed, ensuring adherence to departmental procedures and minimum standards.
  3. Develop, implement, and monitor the use of protocols within the specialist area for the safe use and supply of medicines.
  4. Actively participate in committees related to the specialist area, contributing to clinical governance.
  5. Evaluate, plan, and implement service developments to enhance the quality of pharmacy service.
  6. Ensure compliance with legislation and reflect recommendations, policies, and formulary of Frimley Health and tertiary centers.
  7. Support drug evaluations for the Area Prescribing Committee and advise on cost-effective prescribing.
  8. Assist Lead Pharmacist in recruiting and managing pharmacists or ward technicians, including appraisal and development.
  9. Participate in pharmacy practice research and clinical audit activities.
  10. Provide professional support to the pharmacy homecare team.
  11. Act as an active independent pharmacy prescriber, in line with Trust guidelines and legislation.
  12. Deliver education and training to doctors, nurses, medical students, and other staff.
  13. Contribute to the departmental Continual Professional Development (CPD) program and undertake required CPD as per GPhC.
  14. Participate in the clinical training of junior pharmacists and other pharmacy staff.
  15. Engage in training and development activities recommended by the Chief Pharmacist to stay updated with service advances.
Other Duties
  1. Assist in the provision of outpatient and inpatient dispensary services when required.
  2. Participate in late duty/weekend rotas and bank holiday rotas as needed.
  3. Contribute to on-call rotas as required by the Chief Pharmacist.
