Job description

Womankind Worldwide is seeking applications from experienced feminist fundraising professionals to work with three women’s rights organisations in Kenya and Uganda to support with their fundraising efforts.

This piece of work will take place between July 2025-March 2026.

About the Organisation:

Womankind Worldwide is a global women’s rights organisation working in partnership with women’s rights movements and organisations to transform the lives of women and girls. We strengthen and support women’s movements in our focus countries in Africa and Asia, and take collective action at regional and global levels, to ensure women’s voices are heard, their rights are realised, and their lives are free from violence.

Womankind has staff based in Kenya and the UK.

About the Role:

Womankind Worldwide is seeking applications from individuals or teams of consultants with experience of scoping, prospecting and relationship building with donors to work with three of Womankind partner women’s rights organisations in Kenya and Uganda. We anticipate the successful candidates will review current fundraising strategies being used, work together with the partners to amend and rewrite fundraising strategies if appropriate, connect partner organisations with donors and provide practical advice and assistance with the development of proposals. This role is part of our exit strategy from Womankind’s 5-year project funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AWESOME (Advancing Women’s Engagement: Strengthening Opportunities to Mobilise for Equality)

We anticipate the successful candidate to be based either in Kenya and Uganda and to have a working knowledge of both country contexts.

Timeline and Deadline:

This is a short advertising process so we recommend submitting applications as early as possible, we will be reviewing applications as they come in so may close this recruitment early.

We anticipate interviews taking place the weeks of 7th July and 14th July.

The total budget for this piece of work is £20,000. We will accept proposals for a 6-9 month assignment in order to meet the project deliverables.
