The Reprocessing Supervisor is responsible for supervising the recycling team, evaluating machine performance, achieving daily throughput targets, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The Reprocessing Supervisor will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Production Manager, and Scrap Purchasing Manager regarding inbound scrap deliveries and reprocessed material requirements for production use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct Extrusion Operator and scrap receiving daily work assignments.
  • Drive performance accountability of team members and equipment.
  • Monitor and report daily material throughput and account for all downtime.
  • Increase material throughput by optimizing extrusion process when necessary.
  • Review machine functions to ensure all components are operating properly, document deficiencies.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to schedule planned and repair maintenance.
  • Submit part stock requests to parts clerk for ordering.
  • Manage the parts storage area and inventory levels.
  • Perform initial assessment of mechanical issues to communicate with the maintenance and production managers.
  • Consult Scrap Purchasing Manager for schedule of inbound scrap loads to plan operation tasks.
  • Schedule material changeovers based on material requirements and min/max levels.
  • Maintain and improve the workflow of assemblers and extrusion operators.
  • Maintain space efficiency and utilization of the building to ensure organization and safety compliance standards are met.
  • Monitor the quantity of sellable material and material type for the Scrap Purchaser.
  • Communicate metal dumpster, scrap pallet trailer & cardboard recycling trailer pickup needs when necessary to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor and schedule pumping of Oil/Water Separator at Building D.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience supervising a manufacturing process, preferably in recycling.
  • Knowledge of plastic materials preferred
  • Must have computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to discuss matters professionally and clearly.
  • Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to understand a process and problem solve.
  • Highly motivated individual with ability to learn quickly.
  • Highly organized with the ability to plan and follow through
