Job summary

Turner-Whittman Logistics in Purfleet, England seeks a Class 1 Tramper driver for long-term work with one of the world’s leading ecommerce operators. You’ll drive between fulfilment centres, with no loading/unloading and regular nightly/weekly pay.

Expect 5 shifts per week, 4 nights out, and 28 days annual leave. Requires C+E, CPC, tachograph card and at least 6 months Class 1 experience. Modern trucks and night-out allowances offered.

Qualifications

• Sufficient spoken and written English for the role.
• Flexibility to work up to 60 hours per week when required.
• Safe driving between fulfilment centres and no loading/unloading.

Responsibilities

• Drive between fulfilment centres and return to home location after shifts.

Looking for a straightforward HGV Class 1 tramping role with modern trucks, regular work and no loading or unloading? Join Turner-Whittman Logistics in Purfleet. We're growing our fleet and looking for reliable Class 1 drivers to join our team for long-term work with one of the world's leading e-commerce companies.You'll drive between fulfilment centres, complete your shifts and return to your home location at the end of your working pattern.

What you'll get

What the job looks like

You'll mainly transport goods between fulfilment centres, so you can focus on what you do best – driving.Most shifts are around 12 hours and can include both day and night work. You'll normally have an 11-hour daily rest period, with occasional longer hours or weekend work during particularly busy periods. There is no loading or unloading expected from you.

What we're looking for

• A valid C+E licence
• Driver CPC / DQC card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• At least 6 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience
• A good understanding of UK drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• No more than 6 penalty points and no DD, DR or IN endorsements
• Sufficient spoken and written English for the role
• Confidence using mobile phone apps – training can be provided if needed
• Flexibility to work up to 60 hours per week where required
• Successful applicants will also need to complete the required background check and drug and alcohol screening
• Drive safely between fulfilment centres
• Transport goods from station to station
• Carry out daily vehicle checks
• Report any vehicle or trailer issues
• Use route-navigation apps to keep deliveries running on schedule
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and site teams
