Job description

Reporting Sonographer or Vascular Scientist required to join friendly supportive team of Sonographers. Full or part time positions available. The successful candidate will undertake a range of Ultrasound examinations within their scope of clinical expertise and knowledge, including Obstetric, Gynaecological, General Abdominal, Vascular, and additional examinations depending on training and knowledge base.

The role involves acting as an expert practitioner demonstrating advanced clinical competencies and knowledge, assisting in the establishment of standards and guidelines for best practice, and proposing changes in procedures and protocols in the department. The candidate will also be responsible for training Student Sonographers, assessing requests for imaging, and providing highly specialist clinical services and advice.

Responsibilities:
  • Undertake Ultrasound examinations within scope of clinical expertise and knowledge
  • Act as an expert practitioner demonstrating advanced clinical competencies and knowledge
  • Assist in the establishment of standards and guidelines for best practice
  • Propose changes in procedures and protocols in the department
  • Train Student Sonographers
  • Assess requests for imaging
  • Provide highly specialist clinical services and advice
Requirements:
  • Ultrasound case accredited course with experience or current student due to qualify
  • Working Knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (desirable)
  • MSC/PGD Ultrasound or Vascular science Qualification or equivalent (desirable)
  • IT literacy to an appropriate level (desirable)
  • Evidence of continuing professional education (desirable)
