A leading healthcare provider in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Radiographer to join their multi-disciplinary team. The role involves delivering high-quality care through reporting sessions and clinical work. Candidates should have HCPC registration and solid experience in various radiographic techniques. Our focus is on ensuring that our patients receive high-quality treatment quickly.
You will be working as part of a friendly, welcoming, and expert multi-disciplinary team supported by our experienced Imaging Management team, to deliver clinically safe and high-quality care to patients. Duties include undertaking plain film reporting sessions in line with departmental guidelines and policies, ensuring accuracy, adhering to timelines, providing reports based on radiological findings, suggesting diagnoses or differential diagnoses, and advising follow-up where appropriate. The role involves 0.5 WTE reporting MSK plain imaging and 0.5 WTE clinical work (x-rays), with some weekend shifts. You will be required to undertake reporting sessions and clinics, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
You will be an HCPC-registered Radiographer with robust postgraduate experience within the UK and knowledge of current developments in radiographic techniques. Experience in general radiography, theatre radiography, fluoroscopy, and knowledge of cross-sectional imaging are advantageous. A broad knowledge of techniques for all radiological modalities, including X-ray & Theatre Radiography, understanding of IR(ME)R & IRR legislation, and experience analyzing X-ray images with recognition of abnormalities are essential. Our Reporting Radiographers act as Leads; some experience in team leadership or management would be desirable but not essential.

Responsible for undertaking plain film reporting sessions and clinical sessions, assisting the Lead reporting Radiographer in developing the Radiographer Reporting Service. As a senior Radiographer with expertise in Radiography and Image Interpretation, the post holder will undertake reporting sessions and provide teaching to practitioners and clinicians. Initiating and conducting audits, discrepancy/MDT meetings, and development are integral parts of the role under Clinical Governance.
