Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is seeking a Reporting Analyst to turn complex data into clear reporting for Fundraising, Marketing and the wider organisation. You’ll build dashboards in Power BI, use SQL across multiple sources and interact with stakeholders to deliver trusted information.

The role is hands-on with a hybrid work policy (2 days in the office) and a salary of £42,770 per year. DBS check may be required and salary benchmarking is used.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience developing dashboards and reporting using Power BI.
  • Strong SQL skills, with experience interrogating, analysing and validating large datasets.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources to produce accurate and meaningful business intelligence.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to spot trends and understand what the data is telling you.
  • Experience developing KPIs, performance measures or reporting frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to understand what colleagues need and translate this into practical reporting solutions.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to present data and explain findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive approach to improving and automating reporting processes.
  • Experience of fundraising, supporter or charity data would be useful, but isn't essential.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and improve Power BI dashboards and reporting that help teams understand performance and make informed decisions.

  • Work with colleagues across the charity to understand their questions and translate them into useful reporting and business intelligence solutions.
  • Develop clear KPIs and performance measures that give teams a consistent view of what is happening and where attention is needed.
  • Turn data into clear, engaging reporting that makes complex information easier for different audiences to understand.
  • Work alongside our Data Engineering and Analysis teams to develop the datasets and reporting capabilities colleagues need.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and simplify reporting, reducing manual processes and making information easier to access.
  • Support colleagues to confidently use dashboards and self-service reporting, helping make data part of everyday decision-making.
  • Help maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy and governance across our reporting.

Description

Are you a Reporting Analyst who enjoys turning complex data into clear, useful information that helps people make better decisions? Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is looking for a Reporting Analyst to develop the dashboards, reporting and performance information used by teams across Fundraising, Marketing and the wider organisation. This is a hands‑on role where you'll combine Power BI, SQL and analytical thinking with lots of stakeholder interaction. You'll build and improve reporting, understand what colleagues really need from their data and find smarter ways to make trusted information easier to access and use.


Salary

The salary for this role is £42,770 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.
