The role

The purpose of this role is to provide a pro-active and effective support to the Property Repairs and Place Maintenance Directorate. Supporting the management team to enable them to develop and deliver an improved service delivery and the business strategy.

This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.

What you'll achieve

  • Responsible for a full range of secretarial duties including dealing with correspondence, emails and enquiries on behalf of the Directorate wherever possible, and those requiring the Director's attention are acknowledged, prioritised and referred to the Director or Head of Service for action
  • Referring queries and urgent matters to the appropriate repairs managers and providing updates to the business and SMT meetings
  • Responsible for the administration and facilitation of meetings including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and instigating the appropriate follow up actions
  • Undertake ad hoc project work as scoped by the Director or Head of Property Repairs, taking responsibility for the delivery of the projects
  • Assist in responding to high level complaints through gathering information and drafting responses to be signed off by the Directorate SMT
  • Manage local HR admin processes and chases for compliance for the Directorate and their staff e.g. H&S compliance, training, holiday requests, expenses, starters and leavers and induction processes

What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Experience and proven track record of working within confidential environments and dealing with corporately sensitive issues in a calm and highly professional manner
  • Experience of providing secretarial support
  • Experience of servicing meetings, boards and committees, i.e. production of agendas, minutes, actions sheets etc.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English and the ability to produce and present clear, concise and grammatically correct reports and minutes
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and plan ahead and to manage own workload with a minimum of supervision
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Teams
