A leading aviation company is seeking a Repairs Supervisor in Chippenham to manage and develop their team on a contract basis. The role includes ensuring performance targets are met and promoting process improvements. This position is fully onsite, with a contract until the end of 2025, and an hourly rate of £14.03.

Job description

Our client has an opportunity for a Repairs Supervisor to join them on a contract basis. You will be managing, supporting and developing your team.

Role: Repairs Supervisor
Location: Chippenham - fully onsite
Hours: 4 on 4 off, 39 hours 07:00-17:15
Hourly Rate: £14.03 per hour
Contract: Until the end of 2025
Start Date: ASAP!

What you'll be doing:
  • Manage, support, coach and develop your team reports
  • Be responsible for team and department performance targets
  • Take responsibility to ensure that regular 1:1s are carried out with direct reports
  • Provide daily supervision of activities including supporting production manager and perform management duties when manager is out of the office
  • Address output problems as they arise and pro-actively identifies areas of improvement
  • Accountable in maintaining standards on Quality, Cost and Delivery with Production Manager
  • Actively promote process improvement suggestions from team members
  • Take Accountability for all stocked parts (SW01), ensuring all parts are reviewed in line with demand. Introduction of new parts reflecting product launch
  • Use manufacturing data in measuring effectiveness of KPI's to make correct decisions on output
  • Responsible to ensure all health & safety policies and procedures are in place
  • Involvement in the creation and maintenance of all department policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • A background in manufacturing or production
  • A track record in implementing lean initiatives
  • Can demonstrate that they have driven efficiencies in a workshop/manufacturing environment
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office
  • Team leadership
  • A good level of communication skills both verbal and written
  • Positive 'can do' attitude
