Job description

Construction Data Risk Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + benefits

Location: Dunstable, hybrid working, minimum 3 days per week in the office. Role will require some occasional travel to our London office and sites around the UK and Ireland.

Bring your expertise in risk management to the front line of one of the UK’s most ambitious hotel expansions — and help safeguard the future of more than 850 thriving properties.

As a Construction Data Risk Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert for identifying and managing technical risks across a portfolio of more than 85,000 bedrooms. From uncovering documentation gaps to leading re-surveys and site investigations, your work will directly protect our properties, our people, and our brand. It’s a chance to dig deep into data and drive smarter, safer decisions at scale.

At Whitbread, home of Premier Inn, you’ll join a powerhouse team of specialists across construction, estates, and property acquisition. Together, we ensure that every hotel meets the highest industry standards and delivers a consistently excellent experience for our guests. Your role will be key in ensuring compliance and preventing issues before they escalate in sites across the country.

This isn’t just a desk job – it’s an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of property risk management. With 7,000 new rooms on the horizon and growing international reach, the scope for impact is massive.

Why you’ll love it here:

Bonus: Enjoy an annual Whitbread performance incentive worth up to 30% of base salary

Healthcare: For you and your family

Discounts: Up to 60% discount on Premier Inn stays and 25% discount on our Restaurant brands

What you’ll do:

  • Set the standards for our build quality, control access to accurate and comprehensive technical records of property assets, including building information, component details, and maintenance history.
  • Hold regular reviews with external project managers, refurbishment, and maintenance teams, setting clear targets for information delivery to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits to assess and improve standards, and identify opportunities for process or system improvements.
  • Design, develop, and curate a filing system to oversee the management of digital and paper-based records and standardize information sources throughout the business.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams (development, estates, and procurement) and external stakeholders (developers and contractors).

What we need:

  • Previous experience within construction, architectural, or maintenance environments with expert knowledge of construction contracts JCT and NEC.
  • Membership of the Archives and Records Association (ARA) is advantageous, but experience in records management or awareness of information management principles with information systems and archives is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, problem-solving individual who is keen to make a difference, with the ability to challenge and question, making objective recommendations.
