Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking an motivated individual to support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets across the Midlands. You will work with an experienced Team Leader, gain full training, and contribute to high standards of safety and service.

This role offers foundational training in utilities operations, outdoor work, and site safety, with opportunities for progression within Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company.

Responsibilities

• Support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets.
• Assist with excavation, reinstatement, and general site activities.
• Safely use tools, equipment, vehicles, and plant in line with training and company procedures.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and water hygiene requirements.
• Maintain safe, clean, and secure work sites.
• Assist with traffic management and site safety measures as required.
• Work alongside the Team Leader to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers, the public, and other stakeholders.
• Complete basic documentation and report incidents, defects, or safety concerns.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to build skills and knowledge.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required

Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company specialise in multiple divisions.

Severn Trent Water supplies clean, safe drinking water to millions of customers across the Midlands and surrounding areas. The company is committed to delivering reliable water services, reducing leakage, investing in infrastructure, and protecting the environment for future generations.

Through its Severn Trent Clean Water contract, the team play a vital role in maintaining the region's water distribution network. Responsibilities include repairing water mains and associated assets, delivering reinstatement and traffic management services, and supporting AMP8 objectives through leakage reduction, network renewal, and lead pipe replacement programmes.

Purpose of the role:

To support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets, working alongside an experienced Team Leader to deliver safe, high-quality services to customers across the network.
