A growing vehicle hire business in the West Midlands is seeking a Rental Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily coordination of rentals, fleet logistics, and customer service. This is a key operational role within a fast-moving, service-focused environment.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of vehicle movements, rental administration, and team supervision. This includes overseeing logistics, maintaining system accuracy, and delivering a high standard of service to both trade and commercial clients. The role also involves supporting business performance targets and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily rental activity including vehicle scheduling, dispatch, return, and inspection
  • Ensure accurate completion of rental documentation and system records
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across the customer base
  • Lead a small team of drivers, managing workloads and supporting day-to-day coordination
  • Monitor vehicle condition and liaise with internal teams on maintenance or refurbishment
  • Address customer issues and queries professionally and efficiently
  • Work with management to achieve commercial goals, including revenue and cost control
  • Support process development and help strengthen communication across departments

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in vehicle hire, logistics, or fleet management, preferably within the light commercial vehicle sector
  • Proven ability to lead or coordinate small teams in an operational environment
  • Highly organised, with strong time management and communication skills
  • Confident using fleet or rental management software, and familiar with standard IT systems
  • Commercially aware, with a focus on service standards and operational performance
  • Reliable, professional, and able to handle pressure in a busy setting
