Basing at the Peterhead site, Motive Offshore Group is seeking a Rental Fleet Technician to mobilise/demobilise equipment and support workshop technicians with servicing and repairs. You’ll ensure high standards in cleaning, painting, and forklift operations, while maintaining health, safety and quality compliance across the fleet.

You will join our European Rentals team, working with a skilled workshop crew and reporting to the Rentals Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience with operating spooling and winch equipment.
• B1/B2/B3 tickets preferred.
• Appreciation of mechanical equipment.
• Strong time management and organisation.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Ability to take initiative and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Mobilisation and demobilisation of all hire equipment, returning to onshore per procedure.
• Prepare equipment to a high standard, including cleaning and painting.
• Carry out forklift operations.
• Ensure tasks comply with Health, Safety and Quality standards.
• Maintain yard and workshop to a high standard.
• Assist servicing and planned maintenance of rental fleet.
• Liaise with other departments to support the programme.
• Quarantine and tag off-hire equipment as per procedure.
• Record missing or damaged equipment and complete demobilisation paperwork.

About the role:

Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

Based at our Peterhead site, the Rental Fleet Technician is responsible for the mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment, as well as its operation in line with specific client project requirements. The position also involves supporting workshop technicians with repairs and servicing of Motive’s rental fleet. A key aspect of the role is preparing equipment to a high standard, including cleaning and painting. The role also includes carrying out forklift operations. The Rental Fleet Technician must also ensure that all tasks are carried out in compliance with relevant Health, Safety, and Quality standards, while maintaining a high level of general housekeeping.

As part of our European Rentals team in Peterhead, you’ll benefit from being in a busy, hands-on role. Supporting some of the biggest projects that we work on around the globe and working alongside a highly skilled workshop team, on a varied range of projects, your expertise plays a key part in keeping rental equipment safe, compliant, and ready for use, every time.

About the team:

As a part of our European Rentals team, you’ll become part of a small, hardworking, and skilled team who are used to working to a high standard and specification. You will be supported by John Davidson, Operations Manager - Rentals, and work alongside a team, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.

Responsibilities:

People

• Mobilisation, Demobilising of all hire equipment returning to onshore in accordance with the Rental Equipment Mobilisation and Demobilisation procedure.
• Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns
• Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives designed to support our Net Zero objectives
• Minimise and segregate waste wherever possible.
• Participate in proactive HSEQ systems in place such as ICE Card and STAR Cards

Product

• Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used.
• Identify and provide appropriate tools and equipment, instruction and technical data to operatives.
• Assist in the Mobilisation and function testing process as and when required
• Liaise with other departments and individuals required to support the programme.
• Ensuring that the equipment standard is kept high as you would like to receive it.
• Keep the yard and workshop clean and organised to a high standard.
• Offloading equipment returned from client locations
• Quarantining and tagging off hire equipment in line with the Product Identification and Tagging Procedure
• Upkeep of and completion of demobilisation paperwork including the recording of missing or damaged equipment
• Performing and documenting inspections of demobbed equipment
• Assist with Servicing and undertaking planned preventive maintenance of the rental fleet equipment and any other equipment deemed necessary

Required skills / knowledge:

• Experience of operating Spooling and Winch equipment, (preferred, however, not essential as training can be given).
• B1, B2 and B3 tickets (preferred, however, not essential as training can be given).
• Appreciation of Mechanical equipment.
• Ability to organise time effectively and prioritise workload, as required.
• Maintain Good positive communication
• The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail with strong organisation skills.
