Job Description:

Who are we looking for?

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual experienced in the social housing sector, particularly in setting rents and service charges, preferably in a supported housing environment.

You will lead the Rent Setting team, manage Service Charge Officers, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidance on rent setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.

The role offers collaboration with various teams, opportunities to apply analytical skills, and to provide excellent service to users.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing models for setting and reviewing rent and service charges, with detailed breakdowns and evidence bases linked to budgets.
  • Leading rent review periods and applying appropriate charge methodologies.
  • Managing the annual rent review timeline and stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinating with Local Authorities for rent approvals and maximizing income from HB-eligible rents.
  • Handling disputes with Local Authorities regarding charges.
  • Analyzing budget spend versus charge recovery for reforecasting and rent increases.
  • Promoting process improvements within the team and contributing to policy reviews.
  • Ensuring coordination between Operations, Property, and Rent Setting Teams for accurate charges.
  • Leading rent setting in partnership with managing agent RSLs.
  • Setting team direction aligned with organizational priorities.
