Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified accountant to join the Milton Keynes City Council finance team as the Rent and Service Charge Accountant. Reporting to the Housing Finance Manager, your role will involve setting rents for social housing tenants, temporary accommodation, and other categories, ensuring compliance with government policies and the Rent Standard from the Regulator of Social Housing. You will also prepare service charge estimates for various types of tenants and leaseholders, issuing accurate estimates before the start of each service charge year, and lead the process of issuing annual service charge certificates and statements of affairs for leaseholders.

Candidates should be CCAB qualified or studying, with experience in housing, HRA, or rent and service charge roles within local government. The ability to explain complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences using multiple tools is essential.

This is a permanent role requiring one day per week in the office, with a salary range of £46,731 to £50,788.
