Job description

Job Purpose: Carry out installation of Solar PV Systems in line with all company procedures and MCS requirements across a range of clients and contracts including housing association, private customer, and new build clients. To act professionally and efficiently at all times and to represent us in the best possible manner.


Duties:

  1. Maintains job time frame and quality standards of the company by working efficiently and safely with a high quality finish.
  2. To deliver a high quality service to the client and their customers, having respect for all individuals and meeting the challenges presented.
  3. Carries out all works strictly in line with company procedures and all MCS standards within the industry: - code of practice and 18th Edition regulations.
  4. Repairs and minor works as and when required for installation call backs or remedial works.
  5. Breakdown attendance and response to urgent calls.
  6. To install all products and materials to the highest quality possible and in line with all manufacturer guidelines.
  7. To carry out ordering of parts and management of own jobs to ensure fast resolution to the client’s issue or fault.
  8. To clear each job from the handheld device and back office system as they are completed.
  9. To liaise with clients as and when required about the works being undertaken.
  10. To ensure all PPE is present and correct at all times.
  11. To liaise with project manager and assist with keeping the standards of the QMS and company quality manual.
  12. Ensure all equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
  13. To ensure all appointments are kept and all tenants/clients are kept informed.
  14. To carry out duties as required by any senior manager or member of staff representing such manager.
  15. To stay up to date with all codes of practice involving your given discipline.
  16. Carry out all reporting of variations to any works and updating administration department of changes to requirements on site.
  17. Responsible for engaging and attending all staff briefings and company functions.
  18. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  19. Liaison with all other engineers and staff to ensure targets are reached, organizing mechanical works, and building works on any given installation.
  20. Production of a certificate or job sheet for all work, any other reports or records required for the work.
  21. Submitting a valid and accurate time sheet, delivery notes, expenses, and any other documentation weekly.

Skills/Qualifications:

  1. General competence in the given trade.
  2. NVQ 2 or equivalent in Electrical Systems.
  3. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  4. BPEC qualification or equivalent in installation of Solar PV.
  5. Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.

Experience Required:

  1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  2. Experience of working within the Social Housing sector on installation projects and maintenance contracts.
  3. Experience of working with clients directly.
  4. A clean UK driving license and DBS check will be required.
