Renewable Energy & Alternative Fuel (REAF) Senior Underwriter

This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly created Renewable Energy & Alternative Fuels Industry Practice, focused on driving growth in energy transition technologies by developing industry expertise across lines of business. Our clients include developers and operators of renewable power assets, alternative fuel assets, energy storage, and other transition technologies.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to underwrite construction and operational risks for REAF occupancies, with a focus on new business generation. The successful candidate will represent the REAF Industry Practice in broker and client meetings, collaborate with internal teams, and support business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewals following underwriting guidelines.
• Stay informed about industry developments and challenges.
• Manage financial plans for the London & Midlands region REAF practice.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriters.
• Ensure compliance with policies, legal, and regulatory standards.
• Support the practice in establishing best practices.
• Represent Chubb to brokers and clients, and promote the REAF practice internally.
• Maintain relationships with key brokers and clients to foster growth.
• Maximize cross-selling opportunities across lines of business.
